Chapter 10. Future Directions

Technology moves at an amazing speed, especially for the burgeoning service gateway market. Since the release of the 1.0 specification, the OSGi Core Platform Expert Group (formerly the Java Expert Group) has been actively working on existing issues and new features. In this chapter, we briefly look at the nature of some of the issues and examine other major technical areas into which OSGi is branching.
