21.3 Summary

This example shows the progress of a risk assessment from the very simple PHA to the more complex PRA. As shown, a wealth of information can be gained from each aspect of the analysis. In many cases, an FMEA can provide the information necessary to make informed decisions concerning risk associated with a process. Analysis techniques such as PRA should be reserved for the most complex systems or those systems that have the highest risk.
