With the back piece right side up, stack the two
pieces of ribbon and lay them diagonally across the

ting. Using a stencil, write the words “PAR AVION”
backward on the paper backing. Cut out, and apply
to the ribbon.

Tablet Pieces to Measure and Cut
• Trace your tablet on a piece of paper.
• Add

seam allowance. This creates the front pattern piece.
• Repeat tracing steps 1 and 2, measuring out 3 inches (7.5 cm) from the center of
the line on the left side. Mark a point, and draw angled lines to each corner of the
rectangle to create the flap extension. This creates the back pattern piece.
• Cut three layers for each piece—one of main fabric, one of lining fabric, and one or
two of batting (depending on the thickness you want). If you’re using felt instead
of quilt batting, cut two layers and stack them together.
