This is called the eye of
the needle.
With sharp scissors, cut the end of a piece of
thread. Poke the thread through the eye at the
top of the needle.
Pull the thread through the eye, and bring up to
join the other end of the piece of thread.

Insert the wire loop through the eye of the needle.
Slide the thread through the wire loop.
Pull the wire loop back through the needle.
Continue to pull the thread all the way through.
Now you’re ready to sew by hand!
