Navigating the Filesystem

When you’re looking for a specific file or directory, you probably pop open a graphical tool and click on icons, drilling down to where you need to go. But you can do this much more quickly using the command-line interface once you know how. In this chapter, you’ll explore how to work with files and directories, and you’ll get comfortable navigating around your computer’s filesystem using the CLI.

Let’s start by looking at one of the most basic commands for working with files and directories on the CLI.
