The Reactive model was conceived by the Reactive Streams 1.x specification and includes four simple interfaces, namely the Publisher, Subscriber, Subscription, and Processor. Its slim platform composition makes it the most straightforward and flexible specification for Reactive programming both in Web and Android development. It aims to provide sets of rules and guidelines on how to utilize these interfaces by using any kind of programming language to get rid of asynchronous data requests. This chapter will focus more on Reactor Project 3.x (Reactor Core 3.x) as the core implementer of Reactive Streams.
