Part 3
Hearth and Home

Housing can, and often does, become an issue at this stage in our lives. If your kids have grown and moved out, you might feel a bit lost in your big, family home. Maybe you’re thinking of getting something a bit smaller and more manageable, with all the amenities you’d like. Perhaps you’re anticipating having an elderly parent come to live with you, and need to make some revisions to your home to accommodate her. Or maybe you’re thinking that a vacation home sounds like a good idea.

Regardless of how or why your housing needs may be changing, you can bet that accommodating the changes will cost you some money.

In Chapters 11 through 14, you’ll learn about different types of mortgages and which one may best fit your homeowner profile. And we’ll also deal with how you might best sell your home if you decide to move.
