Electronic Databases

The USPTO provides basic patent and trademark electronic search products to all PTDLs. Many PTDLs also subscribe to WEST (Web Examiner’s Search Tool). Partnership PTDLs in Sunnyvale, California; Detroit, Michigan; and Houston, Texas, offer both text and image retrieval of patents and trademarks. Here’s more of what you can expect to find (note that the databases available from the USPTO’s website outlined in the following list may not be available for general access at all PTDLs):
Optical Disk Products at PTDLs—Describes USPTO electronic search products regularly provided to PTDLs.
Trademark Search System (X-Search)—Available at PTDL Partnership sites in Sunnyvale, California; Detroit, Michigan; and Houston, Texas.
USPTO Internet Search Systems—Search the U.S. Patent Database and Trademark Acceptable Identification of Goods and Services Manual.
Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)—Provides access to the same text and image database of trademarks as currently provided to examining attorneys at the USPTO via the X-Search system.
USPTO Web Patent Database—Provides the full text of all U.S. patents issued since January 1, 1976, and full-page images of each page of every U.S. patent issued since 1790.
