How to Order Copies of Prior Art
If you can’t get a copy of a specific patent(s) through a PTDL or www.USPTO.gov, you may order copies of original patents or cross-referenced patents contained in subclasses comprising the field of search from the Patent and Trademark Office. Mail your request to Commissioner for Patents, PO Box 1450, Alexandria, VA 22313-1450.
Payment may be made by check, coupons, or money. Expect a wait of up to four weeks when ordering copies of patents by mail from the USPTO.
For the convenience of attorneys, agents, and the general public in paying any fees due, deposit accounts may be established in the USPTO with a minimum deposit of $310. For information on this service, call 571-272-6500.
