◆ The Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS;tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=tess&state=4004:fogquj.1.1): Search the USPTO database before filing your application to determine whether anyone is already claiming trademark rights in a particular mark.
◆ Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS; www.uspto.gov/teas/index.html): TEAS allows you to fill out an application form and submit it directly to the USPTO over the Internet. You can pay by credit card, through an existing USPTO deposit account, or via electronic funds transfer.

John S. Pemberton, a druggist in Atlanta, brewed the first kettle of Coca-Cola in 1886.
