The ACRL—a division of the American Library Association—provides grant resource links in a number of disciplines.
This is the nonprofit world’s newspaper of record. Issued biweekly, it includes articles on trends in philanthropy. It also reports on recent grants by foundations and companies. Skimming this listing is a great way to pick up some prospects for further research, but you’ll have to subscribe to the paper edition to access all of them.
This site provides a grant-writing guide from beginning to end in seven pages.
In addition to an excellent foundation database, The Foundation Center provides a variety of free and paid instruction in grant writing.
The Foundation Center also created this website that offers webcasts, podcasts, and other training opportunities. There are also sector-specific information areas for the arts, education, health, social services, and many other fields.
GrantStation offers a free funding alert newsletter in addition to fee-based grant-writing instruction and a funder database.
This database of every nonprofit organization in the United States includes foundations (private and corporate) and provides links and several years of tax returns for each.
MAP provides much free information on their website, but the section about evaluations titled “Basic Guide to Outcomes-Based Evaluation for Nonprofit Organizations with Very Limited Resources” is particularly useful.
The Medical University of South Carolina has compiled these links to grant-writing guides, focusing on medical research proposals.
The NonProfit Times provides articles about nonprofits beyond fundraising to include management issues.
This site offers information on RFPs and issues in research.
In addition to making technology grants, the TechFoundation also offers information on other funders and a newsletter about grants for technology.
