You want to be clear in your grant budget when the grant money will be spent. Typically, grants are made for a one-year period, but that year may not correspond to the period in which your program will take place. If that’s true for your program, you can make it clear when the grant will be spent by including an additional column that pulls out the funder’s grant amount.
This would look similar to the example given in the following “Budget Narrative” section. Although there, the second column is used to show how the funder’s money will be spent, you’d use a similar process to show when it would be spent simply by labeling each column with the appropriate dates.
