5. The term “eurobond” at times creates confusion. Eurobonds need not be denominated in Euro Dollars. For example, the same Japanese based company could issue debt in Switzerland with principal and interest payments denominated in Japanese Yen. This instrument would be referred to as a eurobond also, or more specifically, a yen eurobond or euroyen bond.
