THE ROLE OF LEARNING PLATFORMS

In this last part of the book, I will explore the role of learning platforms, the third pillar of positive emotion, along with narratives and the passion of the explorer. Various kinds of platforms exist in our economy and society, but I am focused on a specific kind: learning platforms. They are an invaluable tool that can help us on our journey beyond fear.

In Chapter 10, I will define platforms in general and identify four kinds of platforms. Then I will explain why I believe that learning platforms can be powerful in helping us overcome fear and cultivate the passion of the explorer. The short answer is that they harness the network effects that drive exponential improvements in impact as more and more people come together to learn faster.

Chapter 11 dives deeper into the untapped potential of learning platforms. It also explores the design elements required to scale them successfully.
