Putting It All Together (Action Planning)

There is a fairly popular saying in our society and that is “Knowledge is power.” Many people when asked will shake their heads up and down and agree with that statement. I disagree completely! Knowledge is not power, because there are many people who have Masters and even PhDs who work in low-paying jobs and don’t live up to their potential. There is a huge population of the United States who are overweight. They know what to do—they have the knowledge. There are millions of people who smoke cigarettes who know the overall risk factors, but choose to ignore them. Knowledge itself is not power; it is the application of knowledge that creates power. It is the absolute imperative of managers to apply the knowledge that they have in order to maximize organizational effectiveness.
