I could never have undertaken writing a book like this without the support and love of my wife Michelle and my five kids, Grayson, Grant, Sophie, Margo, and Andi Rose. Their constant love and encouragement has made this dream of publishing a book a dream worth fighting for.

I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to my dad, Kent Clothier Sr., and my two brothers, Brett Clothier and Kent Clothier Jr. Much in the same way as Memphis Invest started out for my father as notes on a restaurant napkin, this book began in another form, as a collection of blog posts and notes that have grown over time into something much bigger than I ever could have imagined.

I also want to acknowledge the thousands—and I do mean thousands—of real estate investors I have had the privilege of meeting and speaking with over the last 10 years. Those conversations, some of which I recount here in this book, helped shape my ideas of what it means to serve others in business.
