ABOUT THE AUTHORS

William F. Baker, Ph.D., is an award-winning producer and media executive. He is the Claudio Aquaviva Professor of Education at Fordham University, where he directs the Bernard L. Schwartz Center for Media, Public Policy, and Education. He is also president emeritus of WNET, New York’s flagship PBS station. Since 2010, he has taught “Understanding the Profession: The Performing Arts in the 21st Century” to a select group of students at the Juilliard School and at Fordham University.

Warren C. Gibson, Ph.D., is a professional engineer and retired cofounder of CSA Engineering, Inc., Mountain View, California, a firm specializing in vibration suppression and precision motion control. He is also an economist and currently lectures on that subject at San Jose State University. Bill and Warren grew up together in the 1950s in Cleveland.

Evan Leatherwood is a journalist, a speaker, and a Slifka Fellow at the Bernard L. Schwartz Center for Media, Public Policy, and Education at Fordham University. His work has appeared on public television and in the Nation, the Columbia Journalism Review, the New York Daily News, and other publications of note. He is a graduate of Yale University and lives in New York City
