1. Patong Night Market
At sundown, vendors throughout Phuket set up makeshift tables and tents to peddle everything from handicrafts to DVDs. Patong’s Night Market in particular turns the entire town into one big, sprawling night bazaar (for further details see Street Markets).
2. Kata Plaza
Head here for a selection of watches, sunglasses, and beachwear, as well as row after row of quality T-shirts. Bargaining is always possible, and sometimes even expected. Kata Plaza is best visited at night; daytime can be insufferably hot here.
3. Thalong and Dibuk Roads
These charming streets in old Phuket Town offer many fantastic boutique shops tucked inside historical buildings selling Chinese embroidery, antiques, carved wooden figurines, and regional products from Laos, Cambodia, and Burma.
4. Phuket Town Night Market
With lower prices than Patong, Kata, and Karon, the night market in Phuket Town offers the same selection of T-shirts, fishermen’s pants, and woodcarvings, as well as second-hand clothes and Thai music albums.
5. Plaza Surin
For high-end boutiques, visit Plaza Surin’s 12 stores that sell unique items, such as Thai furnishings, original artwork, natural spa products, and cutting-edge audiovisual products. The upscale Silk Restaurant and Bar, serves delicious Thai cuisine.

6. Chatuchak Weekend Market
Located south of Phuket Town, this massive open-air bazaar (for further details see Chatuchak Weekend Market) sells soaps, candles, photo frames, sculpture, beachwear, flip-flops, used shoes, puppies, and almost anything else you can imagine. It also has dozens and dozens of food stands selling Thai food.
7. Turtle Village Shopping Centre
This upscale shopping center in Mai Khao gives northern Phuket shoppers a trendy new place to buy unique Thai souvenirs. Turtle Village offers luxurious Jim Thompson silk, original artwork, jewelry, pearls, seashells and more.Open 9am–10pm daily
8. Jungceylon
Anchored by a Robinson department store and a French supermarket, Jungceylon – a massive international shopping destination in Patong – features more than 300 shops selling everything from sports clothes to perfumes and luxury cosmetics.Open May–Oct: 11am–10pm daily; Nov–Apr: 11am–11pm daily • www.jungceylon.com
9. Canal Village
Surrounded by casuarina trees, the boutiques here are located inside the Laguna Resort complex, but you don’t need to be a hotel guest to shop here. Stores include a Silk Factory outlet, Siam Crafts, plus sunglasses and shoe stores.Open 10am–10pm daily
10. Phromthep Cape Market
The best souvenir from this popular viewpoint might be the one you take on your camera. You will, however, also find a wide selection of beachwear, handicrafts, seashells, and original artwork in the cape’s outdoor markets.
