Publishing Notes to the Web

In addition to saving notes to Web pages, you can also publish notes to Web pages as well. There's one key difference between publishing notes to Web pages and saving notes to a Web page. When you save a note to a single Web page file, you're saving all pages within the active section to the file. When you publish your notes to a Web page, you're only publishing the currently active page.

When saving OneNote files as a Web page, you're actually saving the entire section file (all pages in the section). If you only want to save a single page, you'll need to move that page to its own section before you save the section as an .mht file or use the Publish feature described in the next section.

You can publish to a file on your desktop or to a Web server. To publish a file, use the following steps.

A published page looks almost identical to a section saved as an .mht file. The only difference is that when you save as an .mht file, you see the entire section (all pages). Publishing only chooses the currently selected page.
