This part covers the time-driven part of the PRINCE2 method – the processes. Each of the eight top-level or primary processes covers a bit of the project from start up through to closure. One process – planning – is covered with other planning information in Chapter 12 in Part III.

Each primary process has a process model that shows the sub-processes inside that top-level process. Don’t worry about these models – some look a bit complicated at first sight. They form a sort of checklist and road map of what the process is about. When you read chapters in this section, have a quick look at the process model to get a general idea, then read the chapter and come back to the process model again. On your second visit to the model you’ll find it really simple.
