Author’s Biography

Bruce Tulgan is the founder of Rainmaker, Inc., a think tank which researches the working lives of Americans born between 1963 and 1977. He has been a featured speaker to business leaders, managers, association members, young workers, and students all over North America and internationally. Bruce’s first book, Managing Generation X: How to Bring Out the Best in Young Talent (Merritt, 1995), is a guide to managing rising young stars in the workplace. Bruce is also the author of Work This Way: Inventing Your Career in the Workplace of the Future (Hyperion, January 1998). His writing has appeared in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, as well as numerous other newspapers, magazines, professional journals, on-line sources, and academic publications. His work has been the subject of scores of news articles across the country and news reports on radio and television programs. While Bruce retired from the practice of law in 1994, he is still admitted to the bar in New York and Massachusetts. He has taught management on the graduate level as an Assistant Professor of Management and holds a fourth–degree black belt in Uechi Ryu Karate. Bruce lives with his wife, Debby Applegate, in New Haven, Connecticut.
