Chapter 17
Repute and Tribute
In This Chapter
• Making your history reinforce your proposal
• Using testimonials
• Documents to include—and not include—with a proposal
Before the funder decides to make the grant, they want to know more about your charity than the one program you have described. In the background section, you get to tell your charity’s history in your own way and throw in tributes from grateful clients and others to reinforce your claims.
So far in the proposal, you’ve been the one saying how great and deserving your charity is. You can gain greater credence with the use of quotes or entire letters testifying to your charity’s ability to carry out the project. And testimonials from members of the press can carry additional weight. Here’s how to put it all together into a package that will help your proposal, rather than just fill pages.
