Acknowledgments

This is the fun part. I'm mostly finished writing (just need to check the review copy), and I can now sit down and take the time to thank the small community that helped me put this book together.

I was delighted to have Sian Roberts once again as the acquisition and developmental editor. She really gets things done—and quickly! This is the third book that I have written under her guidance. Thanks, Sian.

Next, I would like to give a shout-out to my reviewers. Jeff Smith (professor and associate dean at the University of Otago, New Zealand, also of Cody and Smith fame), Gerry Hobbs (professor of Statistics at West Virginia University), and Marc Huber (statistics instructor for SAS) were especially helpful in ensuring that I didn't make any technical errors in my statistical discussions. Paul Grant has reviewed almost all of my books and keeps coming back for more! His attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of SAS were an invaluable asset. Finally, Amy Peters was my go-to person for all questions related to the SAS University Edition and SAS Studio. She is a delight to work with.

One of the most important jobs in publishing a book that reads well and is mostly error free is done by the copy editor. I was delighted to have Kathy Underwood take on this task.

There has to be someone who puts everything together. That job went to Denise Jones. Her title is technical publishing specialist but that doesn't really tell the story. She is the person who converted the "pieces parts" into a coherent book.

Robert Harris produced the cover for my last book (Introduction to SAS University Edition) and has once again produced a cover that really pops. Thanks, Robert.
