In this chapter we learned how to code an Authentication Provider using Maven and JAAS technology, from scratch—starting from the creation of the project, to the understanding of the MDF file, to the writing of the necessary code. With this knowledge, you can also write a custom Identity Asserter or Credential Mapping Provider; you only need to change the MDF file and the interface implemented by the Provider class.
