2. Fr P. Christie, S.J., is Director of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), organizers of Beacon, the International Conference on Business Ethics, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility held on 15–16 March 2007 in Chennai.

3. Refers to Dr J.J. Irani, Director, Tata Sons, co-speaker at the inauguration of the Conference. He was at the helm of TISCO, Jamshedpur when his initiatives both in production of steel and CSR bore fruitful results and made the company a world class manufacturer of steel known for its unwavering commitment to CSR.

4. Refers to the World Cup 2007 Cricket Series that was organized in March 2007 in Jamaica.

5. Refers to one of the speeches of Mr P. Chidambaram, the then Union Minister of Finance in 2007.

6. Jesuit education refers to the type of ethics-based education provided by the religious order of the Society of Jesus, generally known as the Jesuits. They have been running such institutions as Loyola College for more than 450 years in almost all countries of the world.
