Acknowledgments

Back in April of 2009, I celebrated the publishing of my first book in the From Snapshots to Great Shots series and shared copies with many of my friends. Everyone was so supportive, but I always remembered what my friend Mike told me. He said that the book would work as a great photography-learning tool even if I took out all the camera-specific stuff. I always kept that in the back of my mind, with the thought being that one day I would take all the good stuff from the books I was writing and create something for all the folks out there who didn’t happen to own one of the cameras that I happened to be writing about. I knew that the real key to making great photographs had more to do with knowledge and less to do with the camera technology. I have always felt secure in the fact that I could pick up pretty much any camera and make a good photo because the principles are always going to be the same.

I shared this thought with my editor, Ted Waitt, and we both agreed that it would be a great idea to expand on the series by creating this book along with some others, like the recently published Composition: From Snapshots to Great Shots. So thanks to everyone who supported the idea behind this book, and all the help you provided along the way.
