About the Author

Andrew N. Garman, PsyD, is professor in the Department of Health Systems Management at Rush University in Chicago and director of the Rush Center for Health System Leadership. He previously served for nine years as CEO of the nonprofit National Center for Healthcare Leadership, where he remains involved in an advisory capacity. He has published over 100 research articles, book chapters, and major reports on leadership and foresight topics, as well as four books, including The Future of Healthcare and Exceptional Leadership. Garman received his PsyD in clinical psychology from the College of William & Mary, his MS in human resource development from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and his BS in psychology with a mathematics concentration from Pennsylvania State University.
