Acknowledgments

HR has so much to offer any organization, yet it always seems to be the unsung hero, sometimes not recognized at all. New tools and techniques now enable HR to be a true driver of the three key elements that make up productivity; they are performance, competence, and reliability. These are all quantifiable and as such can be financially measured.

Being a business partner does require new skills and a very different approach. This is what’s needed. But how to do it? Well, I hope this book will act as a catalyst in providing some useful help. I must thank the team of researchers and the many HR professionals from 35 different countries that have asked and aided me to put this book together and also the organizations that are putting all of this into practice.
