This chapter describes the test environment that we used to write this book to demonstrate the IBM Power Virtualization Center (IBM PowerVC) features and to capture the windows.

We installed, configured, and used several environments to share our experience with this IBM software.

This section describes the hardware components that were used in the Standard Edition lab environment for managing PowerVM.

Figure 8-1 provides an overall view of the network and storage area network (SAN) connections.

Figure 8-3 provides details about the host system storage fabric.
