Templates VI

Introduction

This section includes all template materials that are representative and supportive of both digital forensics readiness and business process documentation. The templates provided in this section contain instructions to the author, standardized text, and fields that should be modified and replaced with values specified at the time of writing, including:

•  Italicized text enclosed in square brackets ([text]) provides instructions to the author or describes the intent, assumptions, and context for content included in the template document. These fields must be deleted prior to finalizing the template document.

•  Italicized text enclosed in angle brackets (<text>) indicates a field that should be replaced with information specific to a particular section or text within the template document.

•  Text and tables in black are provided as standardized examples of wording and formats that may be used or modified as needed. These are provided only as reference and/or suggestions to assist in developing the template document; they are not mandatory formats.

When using a template document, the following steps are recommended to perform modifications:

1.  Replace all text enclosed in angle brackets (e.g., <Project Name>) with the correct field values. These angle brackets appear in the body of the template document as well as in headers and footers.

2.  Modify standardized text as appropriate for the template document’s specific topic.

3.  To update the table of contents, right-click it, select “Update field”, and choose “Update entire table”.

4.  Before submission of the first draft of this document, delete all instructions to the author throughout the entire template document.
