Each microservice has its own database—that is, each microservice has its own way of managing data, instead of a single, centralized database for the entire application, or even for the whole company. This means that, depending on the services, the databases may be quite different. We can have a relational database (or more than one), we can have NoSQL of several types as a documentary database, a graph database, or other kinds of database.
