Network Vulnerability
Assessment Sample Report
The following material is a sample network vulnerability assessment (NVA)
report. It will give you the basics that should be included in your report back
to your management or client. Be sure to review Appendix C to see a complete
NVA report.
Table of Contents
To help the reader of the report search for the section that he or she is
interested in, make certain to include a table of contents. Use the formatting
process available in the word processing product you use. You will see the
sections that should be included in your report. Remember that ease of reading
will improve the acceptance of your team’s findings.
Executive Summary
The executive summary should not be longer than one page, double sided.
The sections that are typically included are:
Introduction
Methodology
Results and Conclusions
Recommendations
A sample of the executive summary is shown in Exhibit 1.
