Programming Microsoft Visual C# 2008: The Language is more than simply a revision of Programming Microsoft Visual C# 2005: The Language—it is a new project. The result is a greatly enhanced book. This could not have been accomplished without the time and patience provided by everyone at Microsoft. I want to especially acknowledge the contributions of Ben Ryan, Rosemary Caperton, and Kurt Meyer. Ben, the program manager at Microsoft Learning, provided the support and not-so-gentle push when necessary. Rosemary is the project manager and made invaluable contributions and guidance. Finally, Kurt was the technical editor. His detailed review and helpful comments made this a better book.
Writing a book is an all-consuming project. This affects friends and loved ones. I want to acknowledge some of them: Rose, Herb, Jr., John B., Paul, and Patty. As for all my other friends that were treated shabbily during this project, thanks for your understanding.
I have been fortunate to have excellent opportunities, such as writing this book. I want to acknowledge everyone that has a dream but not yet an opportunity. Follow your dreams until they become an opportunity.
