In this chapter, we understood the importance of validating input data; different ways of validating input data in our application, including the Parse and Convert methods; and how we can use regular expressions and the data annotations namespace. We also looked briefly at how we can validate XML and JSON input.

In the next chapter, we will explore ways to secure our data, such as emails, passwords, and API keys, using encryption techniques available in .NET Framework.
