PAUL R. DAUGHERTY is a leading authority on how technology innovations are shaping the future of business and society. In his role as Accenture’s Group Chief Executive–Technology and CTO, Daugherty leads all aspects of Accenture’s Technology business. He sets the firm’s technology strategy and directs its technology R&D, ventures, and ecosystem relationships. As the founder of Accenture’s businesses in cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and other emerging technologies, Daugherty advises the world’s top business and technology leaders on how to apply technology to reimagine and reinvent their organizations’ futures.

Daugherty coauthored the bestselling Human + Machine: Reimagining Work in the Age of AI, a management playbook on the business of AI. He is a frequent speaker and writer on the future of technology innovation and its implications for business and society and is regularly featured in a variety of media outlets, including Bloomberg Television, Fox Business, and CNBC. He accepted the FASPE Award for Ethical Leadership for his work in applying ethical principles to the development and use of artificial intelligence and other innovative twenty-first-century technologies.

Daugherty is a passionate advocate for gender equality in the workplace and also sponsors STEM-related inclusion and diversity initiatives. He serves on the board of directors of Girls Who Code and was recognized as an “Honorable Guy” by the Institute for Women’s Leadership and the “Guys Who Get It Award” for supporting diversity in the workplace and advancement of women, especially in technology and other STEM fields. He also sponsors Accenture’s partnership with Code.org, which is focused on bringing computer science education to students around the world. Paul serves on the boards of Avanade, the Computer History Museum, and the Computer Science and Engineering program at the University of Michigan. He lives in Maplewood, New Jersey, with his wife.

H. JAMES (JIM) WILSON is Global Managing Director of IT and Business Research at Accenture, where he leads research programs on the impact of technology on work, innovation, and business performance. He is the coauthor of Human + Machine and the author or contributing author of numerous books on the impact of technology on work and society, including, most recently, HBR’s 10 Must Reads on AI, Analytics, and the New Machine Age, How AI Is Transforming the Organization, and Artificial Intelligence: The Insights You Need from HBR.

Wilson’s bylined articles appear frequently in Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review; his writing has been shortlisted by Thinkers50 and has been featured in numerous publications, including the New Yorker, the Economist, the Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

Wilson is a frequent keynote speaker and technology conference panelist and has been recognized by Codex as one of the top fifty innovators in the world. He is passionate about education and guest lectures on AI and other emerging technologies at universities such as MIT, NYU, and UCLA. He is an avid mountain biker and triathlete and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family.
