Dan Cortese shot to stardom as the extreme host of the two-time Emmy-Award-winning MTV Sports. For six successful years, Dan interviewed and interacted with the largest stars from the worlds of sports and entertainment. He then went on to star in NBC's remake of the cult classic Route 66. Next on his plate, Dan starred in the CBS drama Traps with Academy-Award winner George C. Scott. After that, he kept the ball rolling and co-starred on the hit NBC sitcom Veronica's Closet, opposite Emmy winner Kirstie Alley. From there, he continued creating laughs, starring in the sitcoms Rock Me Baby and What I Like About You.

Cortese's numerous television credits also include memorable guest-starring roles. Dan appeared in one of the highest-rated episodes of Seinfeld ever as Tony, Elaine's “Mimbo” boyfriend that George had a “man crush” on. The darker side of Dan's acting chops were on display for a season when he portrayed the evil Jess Hanson on Melrose Place. He also had memorable turns on Andy Richter Controls the Universe, The Single Guy, and Hot In Cleveland with the legendary Betty White.

Cortese has appeared in many feature films, including Demolition Man, opposite Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock, Weekend in the Country with Jack Lemmon and Dudley Moore, and After Sex with Brooke Shields. In addition he starred in the made-for-television movies The Triangle for TBS and NBC's spin on the Shirley Jackson classic, The Lottery.

When not acting, Dan continued to keep his hosting skills sharp by helming, NBC's My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad, ABC's action-packed Crash Course, and the fun-filled Guinness World Records: Unleashed for TruTV.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dan attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played football for the Tar Heels. He currently lives happily with his family in Malibu, California.
