Indirect versus Direct Communication

In many cultures, including our own, people rarely verbalize what they truly mean or what they really feel. When this happens, our communication becomes indirect and cryptic, and puts the work team at a disadvantage because the messages are vague, distorted, or misinterpreted. We can vastly improve our communication if we work with others to learn what is needed to strengthen both the message and the reception. In addition, it must be done in a highly respectful and sensitive way.
