A BRIEF RECAP ON GOALS

So, a brief recap on Part One then.

Constant repetition is the key. You need to get this goal visualization ingrained in your mind, thinking about the goal as “already achieved it” – it needs to become a habit.

You’ve got to think about it every day, and you’ve got to find things in the environment that you see every day that will inspire you to think about your goal and remember it. Remember it from this “already achieved it”, already got it state and you will start to notice the little prods inside you. You’ve got to act on these little prods that tell you that you ought to just talk to that person, you ought to just make that call, or you ought to just go to that event.

You have to act on those inner nudges or feelings that you ought to do something rather than say, “Oh no, it’s not me”, because we don’t realize what the consequence of that statement or avoiding action might be.

So many times I’ve gone with things even though they felt uncomfortable only to have some fantastic outcome, and then worry afterwards “What if I hadn’t taken action, I’d never have got this outcome!”

I heard something recently, I’m sure it wouldn’t happen to anybody reading this, but someone had been invited on a couple of occasions to appear on radio and turned it down because “It might be awkward, might feel awkward”, but what an opportunity! We need to take the opportunities when they’re out there, we need to go and say, “Well, maybe, but that’s part of my goal, this could be my goal, this could be a prod, this could be it.”

We don’t know how many prods we’re going to get, so we need to pay attention, and some things might be uncomfortable – true, they could be – but if your goals are clear, you can use that to motivate you through.

So, you’ve got to have enthusiasm, you’ve got to have expectation and that feeling of “already achieved it”, that’s the real key.

Of course, even with the “already achieved it” feeling, you can still come up against things you need to do that, for some reason or another, are very uncomfortable due to fears and phobias. This is what we’re now going to look at in Part Two – Being the Best You That You Can be, How to Remove the Barriers to Your Goals and What You Want to Achieve in Life.
