Once the things explained here start to happen, we will probably start gathering this new data and create new graphs, maps, and screens. It's normal that our boss or a manager or director will ask us to create new monitoring scenarios as soon as possible. Sometimes, we'll forget to plan Zabbix's growth.

Some customers come to us complaining about Zabbix's missed features. Most of these issues can be solved by understanding Zabbix's concepts and configuration parameters.

Of course, Zabbix is a piece of software that is growing every day. Since the 2.0 major version (May 21, 2012), we have had the Zabbix 2.2 major version (November 12, 2013), which introduced more than 100 new features and improvements. We have also had the Zabbix 2.4 major version (September 11, 2014), which comes with at least 50 new features and improvement.

As we are writing this book, the Zabbix SIA teams are planning the Zabbix 3.0 major version. This means that Zabbix is a very active project and each version introduces new features and improvements. Are you up to date with the new features? Do you know whether you are using the new features or not? And how do you know that you didn't miss something?

Sometimes, we forget paying attention to release notes and staying up to date with the latest features and improvements. Maybe, you are getting a bug or some odd behavior. Maybe, this issue has already been solved in a newer version.
