Publishing Your Skill

After several iterations of work, our skill is quite feature-filled. We can use it to book a trip to any location in our solar system, including several of the most popular moons as a premium add-on. It can add that trip as an entry on the user’s Google Calendar. And it can remind the user of their trip when the time for travel gets close.

At this point, the skill is still in the development stage. We can only use the skill on devices that are associated with the Amazon account under which we developed the skill. That’s perfectly fine if you are the only audience for the skill. But if you want to offer the skill for others to use, then it must be published.

In this chapter, we’re going to submit the skill for review and certification by Amazon, publish it, and then see how to monitor post-publication analytics to understand how well the skill is working in production. But first, we need to tie up a few loose ends to ready the skill for certification.
