Individuals and interactions over processes and tools

Good processes and useful tools can improve the team's productivity. There is no doubt about that. And that's why there are many best practice, and people keep inventing new tools. However, if the members of a team follow processes or best practices blindly, or a tool that works so great in a previous project is not appropriate in the current project, these processes and tools would become counter-productive. It is always important to remember that it is the people on the team that move the project forward. Instead of relying on processes and tools, we should get to know each other's thoughts better, as a team, and utilize a team's collective intelligence. In Agile, practices such as daily standup meetings and retrospectives are the ones that align with this value.
