Disaster Recovery Planning

As we describe in the section “How BCP and DRP Work Together,” earlier in this chapter, the planning for both Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity have common roots. Both need to assemble similar project teams, both need executive sponsorship and support, and both must identify critical business processes.

Disaster Recovery Planning and Business Continuity Planning are both vital activities that can ensure an organization’s survival. BCP and DRP fit hand-in-glove (although we’re not sure which is the hand and which is the glove — it probably doesn’t matter).

Here, the similarities end. In the following sections, we discuss the development and implementation of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
