Working with Vendors

When you migrate a solution to the cloud, you will often need to evaluate different vendor solutions. To help you get started, many organizations, such as Gartner, evaluate and provide vendors who offer various cloud solutions. As you start your research, you should leverage such reviews to confirm your findings.

Next, many companies will create requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposals (RFPs) that specify their requirements and to which vendors can respond by detailing how their solution meet the needs.

As you narrow your vendor list, you may ask the vendor to provide a proof of concept (POC) that demonstrates how your solution would work or a proof of value (POV) that demonstrates the value (savings) the solution will offer.
