About the Authors



 

Norma Dávila

Norma Dávila has dedicated her career to develop others in industries as diverse as banking, technology, pharmaceuticals, retail, utilities and education. She is a hands-on consultant in organizational development and training who designs and implements change management, capacity building, and e-learning strategies. She prepares internal organizational capacity for different roles through coaching. Norma provides outplacement support, designs employee handbooks, challenges operational processes, and prepares grant proposals, among other services. Her consulting practice also includes leadership development and talent management programs. She is known for her flexibility in working with her clients to address their needs and partnering to find the best solution to their challenges. Norma is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Yale University and her master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology at the University of Chicago.

 

Wanda Piña-Ramírez

Wanda Piña-Ramírez is an enthusiastic advocate of selecting and developing talent for business success who has held various roles in human resources in industries such as hospitality, tourism, telecommunications, petrochemicals, retail, and government in the United States, the Caribbean Region, and Puerto Rico. Her clients range from multinational corporations to small and midsize businesses for corporate reorganizations, contract negotiations, budget development and management, human resources administration, business management, and training, among other services. Wanda is certified as a Coach (CCC) from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras, as a Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming and Applied Kinesiology by the International NLP Trainers Association, and as a Human Resources Administrator by the Escuela Avanzada de Administración de Recursos Humanos y Legislación Laboral de Puerto Rico. She serves as an Advisory Board Member of the School of Business Administration of the University of Puerto Rico at Bayamón. Wanda received the Training and Development Professional Award of the Puerto Rico chapter of the American Society for Training & Development in 2011.

Norma and Wanda are active members of the Puerto Rico chapter of the American Society for Training & Development where Wanda served as president in 2010 and Norma served as president in 2012. Both are very involved in the Society for Human Resources Management, where they have held various roles in the Puerto Rico chapter and served as subject matter experts for the national association. Both are certified as Development Dimensions International (DDI) facilitators. As friends and colleagues for several years, Norma and Wanda synergized their talents by founding The Human Factor Consulting Group.
