Wrap-Up

In this chapter, we covered a lot of ground for complications. You created complication templates, both for timeline entries and as placeholders, placed data in those templates, and created timeline entries out of them. You also managed the different complication families on different watch faces, providing the right complication template for each one. Turns out, complications live up to their name! In fact, we haven’t covered complications in their entirety yet. In the next chapter, you’ll learn about the Time Travel feature in watchOS, which adds another dimension to your complication data by allowing the user to follow it forward and backward in time. You’ll also learn how to keep your complication data up to date between app launches and how watchOS rations power use to your apps to prevent you from hogging the entire battery just for your app. See you there!
