Conclusion

We have now reached the end of the second edition of Digital Storytelling. I hope you have enjoyed reading about the exciting new developments in this field as much as I have enjoyed writing about them. The world of digital storytelling has burgeoned in ways impossible to predict while I was writing the first edition. I’ve done my best to cover the most significant new areas of digital storytelling and to include as many examples of groundbreaking work as possible. I hope that the innovative projects I’ve described here serve as a stimulus for your own creativity.

I encourage you, as you craft your own works in this field, to try to keep in mind that although digital storytelling is a newcomer to a very ancient craft, it is, like its predecessors, a powerful instrument. I hope that as you join the company of digital storytellers, you will use its power in a positive and creative way, and in doing so, you will help advance this evolving art a few more steps forward.

It has been an enormously challenging task to cover all that has been happening in a limited number of pages.
