THE DATA PROTECTION (PROCESSING OF SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA) ORDER 2006

This order is also made under paragraph 10 of Schedule 3 to the DPA and it permits the processing of sensitive personal data in respect of convictions or cautions for child pornography offences. This order enables the police to liaise with banks, credit card companies and other financial institutions to prevent the use of bank accounts and payment cards in the connection with child pornography offences, provided that there has been a conviction or caution.
