Chapters 5 through 7 deal with learning mode—the second of the three modes. Chapter 5 discusses how learning happens (mostly through ravines). Chapter 6 talks about commitment language and how it helps to surface issues that people might not be comfortable talking about with you. We’ll move to challenging your teams into ravines in chapter 7—a key technique for successful leaders, which can also be a double-edged sword if abused.
