SPEED DESIGNING USING ILLUSTRATOR

When using Illustrator you can also adopt the technique of speed designing. This can be done at any stage of the drawing process. Using software makes it easy to save and store versions of a design at any stage of the drawing. You can also create your own library of details, such as pockets and items of hardware, to add to your drawings.

STEP 1

Using the drawing of the jacket, first save the front view as a template.

STEP 2

Now amend the style. Here, the original dart was removed and the princess line inserted.

STEP 3

The original flap pockets were then removed and replaced with patch pockets.

STEP 4

You can still work in half and then mirror the illustration. Here, the line of the jacket has been extended to create a flare.
