When a transaction is executed, the database should reach from one state to another. We call the initial point the starting point and the point after execution the end point. In a transaction, the start point and the end point should be clear. If the transaction is successful, the database state should be at the end point, otherwise it should be at the start point. Maintaining this consistency is what this property is about.
